You Should Know Where Your Clothes are Made.
a documentary exploring the brutal conditions of a Chinese denim factory. The majority of garments on the fashion market are made under these circumstances. Box Head™ is committed to promoting and pursuing change from within. We’ve sourced out the best denim and ready-to-wear factories in our home community of Los Angeles and delivery a high quality product from an environment that we can control. We make sure all of the factories meet the highest standards in terms of health, safety, worker compensation, and general cleanliness. We believe this results in superior clothing for our customers, and a stronger economy with more jobs.

So, I watched this documentary in class today and it was definitely eye-opening because when you think of clothes and fashion, all you really think about is, the beauty of it, the gloriousness of the way you look in your new dress or shirt. Sometimes you think about how expensive it was,but either way, we rarely ever think about who makes our clothes, where do our clothes come from?
Anyways, this documentary basically shows one example of a contractor in China where American companies outsource to, in this case it was a jeans company. The working conditions are so horrific, and I don’t even think we saw the worst of it because they were basically trained to tell lies on the documentary. There are kids as young as 14 working, and a lot of times working for more than 8 hours a day, with no breaks. Their pay was sometimes paid late. If they fall asleep on the job (from working overtime), they get their eyes clipped, by those pins you hold your clothes up with.
I could go on, but I have no time!! Anyways, it’s so crazy to think about the clothes we wear everyday comes from people who have to live in these conditions. I do know that some companies are trying to change their ways by not contracting with these type of factories which is a good thing, but I know we have a ways to go!!
Because, this is just not acceptable!!!!
